Representatives of the Black Seniors Support (BSS) programme met with the Manitoba Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing Black seniors in Manitoba, while also exploring ways to strengthen support systems, enhance access to care, and promote inclusive community programs.

BSS representatives shared insights from their work in the community, highlighting the value of cultural connections, wellness initiatives, and peer support networks. The Minister expressed appreciation for these efforts and reaffirmed a commitment to collaborating on programs that improve health outcomes and quality of life for seniors.
