Wednesday, April 23, 2025 marked a proud and memorable moment for our community. On this day, Hon. Mark Wasyliw, MLA for Fort Garry, officially presented Black Seniors Support Inc. with commendations at the Manitoba Legislative Assembly.
The recognition was met with resounding applause and heartfelt ovation from those in attendance, including fellow MLAs, the Speaker, Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew, and Uzoma Asagwara, Manitoba Deputy Premier and Minister for Health, Seniors and Long-term Care, all of whom joined in honoring our contributions.
This commendation stands as a powerful affirmation of the work we do to support and uplift Black Seniors across Manitoba. It is not only a celebration of our organization but also a recognition of the resilience, value, and impact of Black Seniors in shaping our community.
As we look ahead, this milestone inspires us to continue building stronger programs, advocating for equity, and ensuring that Black Seniors are always valued, respected, and celebrated.
