On the 1st October, seniors and representatives from senior support service organizations were at the Manitoba Legislative building to celebrate National Seniors Day, commemorating all that the province is doing to support healthy aging, and reaffirming commitments to continue to support healthy communities for older adults.

The Chairman of the Black Seniors Support Board, Mr Oyekunle Oyediran, presented a speech, sharing a bit of the origin story of the organization, and highlighting the support received from the province in the past year. The Honorable Minister of Health, Seniors and Long Term Care signed and also presented a proclamation, declaring the month of October as Seniors’ and Elders’ Month in Manitoba.
