The Black Seniors Support activities began with our Walk for Life wellness program, held on three Saturdays in July 2024—July 6th, 13th, and 20th—at St. Vital Park, 190 River Road, Winnipeg. Each session ran from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, offering seniors a refreshing and engaging way to stay active.
The two-hour walks were more than just exercise—they became a source of encouragement, connection, and joy. Many of our seniors testified to the positive impact these walks had on their health, sharing how the activity helped them feel fitter, healthier, and more energized.
Walk for Life not only promoted physical wellness but also created a welcoming space for seniors to bond, share stories, and support one another in their journey toward healthier living.
This program set the foundation for our commitment to wellness, community, and cultural enrichment, reminding us that small steps taken together can lead to stronger, healthier lives.
